Workers Helpers was founded in 1941 by a carrot farmer named Dave Doug. Dave Doug created this organization to honor his local workers by helping them. He himself was a helper, and his co-founder Mary Larry was a worker! Mary Larry was an avid collector of dust through the 40s and 50s until her untimely death in January of 1961.

Dave Doug knew he had to recruit more helpers and workers to grow the organization, and the rest is history! Dave Doug is currently the only Whitney Houston level helper and Mary Larry is the only female to reach Block of Cheese status!

Dave Doug was criticized for the names of the levels, since Whitney Houston wasn’t even born for another 22 years after the names were established. It’s rumored that Whitney Houston’s father was a Worker Helper and allegedly named her after the title of his beloved friend Dave Doug.

Workers Helpers is an organization of people dedicated to helping workers, while working on helping. The Workers Helpers Organization has chosen January 13th to be “Workers Helpers Day”, a day dedicated to helping, yet working. Workers Helpers came to the USA in the summer of ‘69, when our founder, Dave Doug traveled to Normal, Illinois, and bought his first real six-string at a Five and Dime. He then decided to move his organization to 34 ½ different states. The organization meetings are held under bridges all over the United States of America since Dave Doug can’t decide on a permanent location for our headquarters.
